God sent an angel to tell Mary that would soon conceive a Son through God, the Holy Spirit. It was a fantastic event. It’s an event many struggle to accept. It is through the immaculate conception that our entire theology hinges. If the immaculate conception is not true then Jesus Christ was never God in the flesh and His sacrifice was for nothing. But if the immaculate conception is true, God showed His full love for us to send His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
